Many of the e-books in the Library can be downloaded either partially or fully as PDF files.
To open PDF files you will need a PDF reader on your device such as Adobe Reader. This is free for Deakin students and staff.
Some publishers place restrictions on e-books that prevent them from being downloaded, printed and copied from. This is called Digital Rights Management (read more about DRM on our blog).
Some e-book platforms that use DRM will ask you to create a separate account and download an app to be able to read e-books offline.
You can explore the licence details for each e-book platform on A-Z databases. The licence details include allowances for printing, downloading and copying, as well as links to help and any third party apps you will need.
We also have a range of DRM-free e-books that allow you to freely download, print, copy and save the book or a chapter.
